90 SECOND STRENGTH BUILDING
30 Seconds as many Hand-Release Push Ups as you can
30 Seconds wall sit
30 Seconds climb the ladders
BREAK
Over the course of our 5 weeks of training, we will have spent 5 minutes doing push ups, wall sits, and climbing the ladder. That is 15 minutes of strength building you would not have done otherwise.
Here is my challenge to you...What would happen if you did this 90 second work out every day?
What if you did it 2x, or 3x a day?
What kind of strength would you build?
"It's only 90 seconds..."
20 MINUTES
Physical Post Up with Partner
We need the girls to get "sticky" and learn to love contact, learn to use the contact as leverage.
Contact gives us control.
Team Offense LOVES space.
Individual Offense LOVES contact, b/c that can help us create an advantage.
This translates to excellent off-ball screening/sealing, and much improved horizontal rebounding.
Phrases to remember:
Hit first
Stay sticky
Velcro
Low woman wins
Wide
Truck Legs
Gortat screen
Start with classic Screen and Roll at the Wing
Will slow down and work into a higher game speed
Emphasis on SOLID SET SCREEN
STICKY and Physical Roll to seal
Finish
Next work on the low post after passing or rolling
Emphasis is creating a STRONG post and reading the defense.
If defense over plays, seal them to the top for an over head pass
If defense stays on back, frame their foot with your feet (reverse step into the A)
Read
drop step
Reverse
Fade
Up and Under
Rebuild
The shape appears piece by piece...we are what we continuously do...
Championships are not won on the night of the big event, but years before by athletes who commit themselves daily to championship principles.
